How QM Bearings Got Its Start

What started as a sawmill and logging machinery business in the 1950s, turned into a thriving bearing company when the Blue Brute bearing brand was born out of necessity. QM decided to design an improved bearing because none of the existing bearings was tough enough for the machinery it sold.

When word got out about the better bearing design, QM began selling the mounted spherical roller bearings to others who were also looking for higher quality bearings. Soon, the durable bearing products became the company’s focus. Couplings, bushings, and sprockets were added later on. Currently the company provides well-proven Blue Brute bearings along with award-winning, Quick-Flex elastomeric couplings and rigid compression couplings to thousands of customers in over 40 countries.

Innovation Continues Today

The same innovative approach to building better bearings many years ago is still evident today by new product and feature introductions. The latest example is the patented, double tapered design of the V-Lock bearing. Introduced in early 2006, it quickly became the bearing of choice because it only takes 10 minutes to install and has twice the holding power of other bearings, yet is impossible to overtighten.

QM Bearings hasn’t forgotten what made them successful in the first place. Reducing maintenance costs and downtime for customers is still the mission of every employee, agent, representative and distributor associated with QM Bearings. The five partners who manage the business are dedicated to keeping customers’ needs in mind at all times.
